The cycle "Portraits"
The cycle "Portraits" emerged as an independent work from the work on the cycle "Jewish Portraits" with the intention of creating a modern portrait.
Although the appearance of the portraits has changed again and again over the years and has been further developed, three features have prevailed that are common to all portraits: the faces lack eyes and ears, and all have alienated noses.
Regardless of this reduction, it has remained a central concern to give each portrait an individual, unique character and not do "dehumanize" it.
Work on the cycle "Portraits" began in 2003 and includes a variety of techniques: works on paper (India ink, colored pencils, wax pastels, mixed media), collages, oil on canvas and sculptures.
